PROGRAM NOTE

Fantasy for Two Pianos is an emotional journey with an unstable quality, moving between violence, longing, and ultimately joy. The melody introduced in the very first bars appears transformed in various guises and moods throughout. Two pianos on stage for me is an exciting and other-worldly experience, almost orchestral. The piece is dedicated to Professor Leo Eylar for his guidance and support in the composition, and to Sakurako Kanemitsu for her help with the piano writing and artistic suggestions.
