The Hawkins Contemporary Jazz Company gives three performances of Heartstrings, which will feature a live piano quartet performing my composition of the same name with choreography by Jacob Montoya. In the quartet: Sakurako Kanemitsu, Rei Luu, Christian Johnson, and Jia-mo Chen.

The amazing, NY-based Ensemble Mise-en premieres my new work, Three Solar Essences, for large chamber ensemble, along with works by other UC Davis graduate composers. The composition is inspired by meditations on the dimensions of the Sun.

My piece, "Shine, Perishing Republic" for flute, clarinet, and speaker, based on the timely poem of the great Robinson Jeffers, will be premiered on a concert of new works for flute and clarinet, performed by Christine Richers, True Randall, and myself, in a program commissioned and curated by composer Laura Schwartz. Works by Randall, Richers, and Schwartz.
