firefly dusk (2023)
for solo piano
This piece is not necessarily “about” fireflies, but it can be if you want. The title aims to evoke the gentle qualities of nighttime, stillness, luminescence, and certain rhythmic qualities. It is really a piece about the simple beauty of repetition, of small tones on the piano, and resonance. It’s about taking one’s time.
Collaboration / Commission Opportunity: Do you like this work? I am currently re-working the piece for a variety of instrumentations - they are not exact transcriptions, but rather siblings of the violin duo, fireflies. If you are interested adopting one of these "siblings," I invite you to commission a new one for a small "pay-what-you-can" fee. If interested, please reach out.
